Over 100

I'm happy about getting 101 in the TOEFL on November 14. As I mentioned in the past post, I was confident that I get my best score in that test. Now, it comes true! The detaile of the score is below.

Reading 27
Listening 28
Speaking 19
Writing 27
Total 101

I think I must add some points in the speaking section because I hear that a lot of US MBA programs concern about the speaking score of Japanese applicants and they decide not to accept us if the speaking score is below 20. I want to reduce this risk. In fact, I'm attending TOEFL speaking class recently, so I will overcome this weak point. If I get over 22 in the speaking section, the total score will become 104, which is minimam requisite of Chicago Booth. 104 in the total score is high enough to surpass the minimam requisite of almost all TOP MBA programs except HBS. If it is possible, I want to get over 109, which is minimam requisite of HBS. However, of course, because there are deadline for me to get over 700 in the GMAT and prepare for application, I should start to study for GMAT as soon as possible. Then, after I get over 700 in the GMAT, I should return to TOEFL and aim at 109.

From starting to study for TOEFL, a lot of people kindly helped me. I fully appreciate for them all. But, getting over 100 in the TOEFL is just one of the hurdles to be overcome. I must clear remaining hurdles such as GMAT, Essay, Interview, so I will continue to make effort.
